Born in 2001, James Mwangi (Sir_jeey) is a graduate from Kenyatta University where he studied art and design. Sir_jeey is a self-taught mixed media artist based in Nairobi, Kenya. He began his professional art journey in 2022.
Art is more than just a representation "a way to express his ideas and feelings. He takes anything that he is sort of subjected to or he is involved in from memory, what he can see and remember. A trip in his mind. what he sees and how he can materialize that in form of his visual experience. Art is the truth and anything else is a lie" he says.
He has participated in group exhibitions at the National Museum of Kenya, the gallery art heritage (USA) International School of Kenya Friends of the Art (FOTA) Akka project and One-off Contemporary Art gallery.
